Dr. Debra Dupree founded Relationships That Matter in 2005 as a resource for individuals, families, and businesses facing conflict in their important relationships. In 2011, she formed the workplace division called Relationships At Work, Inc. to specialize in business mediation and leadership services. Today, she is a frequent workplace mediator, motivational speaker, executive coach, and exceptional trainer.
Her experience is built upon many years of service as a Workplace Mediator/Consultant and today she specializes in business mediation and leadership services. Clientele range from family-owned business to leadership teams within large organizations such as Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital, QUALCOMM, Hewlett Packard, Honeywell, Heineken, Hilton San Diego Bayfront, and Imperial Irrigation District. She also has government related experience working with the leadership at the Department of Navy, USDA/APHIS/PPQ and the Los Angeles Federal Executive Board (FEB) Shared Neutral Program.
Debra received her Master’s degree in 1982 from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a dual emphasis in family / workplace counseling and organizational psychology. She obtained licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (#23250) in 1986. Shortly thereafter, she obtained certification in Rehabilitation Counseling (CRC), Case Management (CCM) in 1986 and Disability Management (CPDM) in 1997. She was first credentialed as a mediator in 1994, amassing more than 300 hours of training in specialized mediation techniques, and mediated hundreds of cases over the last 20 years. She is credentialed as a Conflict Coach and accomplished her Doctorate in Psychology in 2014. In 2003, she became a Master Trainer through the Center for Conflict Dynamics, Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL which enables her to teach other professionals in advanced concepts and practices for understanding people in conflict. In 2005, Debra was credentialed as an ACR Advanced Practitioner (AP) in Workplace Mediation.
Debra has long given back to the profession by serving in leadership capacities. She was the President of the California Association of Rehabilitation & Re-Employment Professionals (CARRP) in the early 1990’s, the former Co-chair for the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR) Workplace Section and its Newsletter Editor throughout the 2000’s, and the former President of ADR-San Diego. Debra not only practices her trade but teaches as an adjunct professor in Alternate Dispute Resolution at California Western School of Law and National University as well as SkillPath Seminars. From 2000-2009, she traveled throughout the United States and Canada teaching professionals to become workplace mediators through her affiliations with the Mediation Training Institute in Kansas City and the PULSE Institute in Calgary.
